Welcome Address from the Chair

Hello, I am Louise Dempsey and I have the honour of being elected the Chair of Supporters of St Luke’s (SOS), the parent teacher association for the school.
We are a small group of parents who are supported by school governors and staff; our aim is to help the school to provide an enjoyable experience for our children at the start of their journey through education.

Our meetings are held termly and last about an hour; we discuss and arrange forthcoming events. As a parent or carer you are automatically a member of SOS although we are always looking for additional help to organise and put on events. The advantages of attending meetings and becoming involved include:
• opportunities to meet other parents and teachers, building rapport and discussing issues that are on your mind. You can share ideas, concerns, and experiences,
• you can put your skills and hobbies to use for a noble cause—your child and all children in the community,
• you can demonstrate to your child the importance you place on education,
• by being involved at your child’s school you’ll be part of the solution, helping to make positive changes.

Even if you do not have the time to attend the meetings, I would urge you to support our events; these help to raise funds to give our children additional benefits that cannot be funded from school budgets.
